Positive Reinforcement Dog Training is not only more humane than Aversive Dog Training, it has also been scientifically proven to be more effective. The use of aversive methods in dog training often leads to suppression of behaviors or emotional fallout (i.e. fear, reactivity, aggression) and ultimately creates a dog that may listen, but out of fear and distrust. So, ditch the shock collar, the pinch collar, and the leash corrections! It’s not necessary. Let us build a solid training foundation that is built on friendship and trust.
Our Board & Train Programs are ideal for any dog that needs a more personalized and immersive experience. It’s perfect for individuals and families that struggle to find the time to train their dog(s). Let us do the training for you! While you’re busy with work or relaxing on vacation, we’ll be working on perfecting your dog’s obedience and working through any behavioral concerns.
All Board & Train Programs start with an Initial Assessment. (The Initial Assessment must be scheduled prior to your Board & Train Program!) The Initial Assessment is an opportunity for our certified dog trainer to meet with you and your dog and to get a thorough understanding of your current training and behavioral struggles and your training goal(s). Each dog that goes through our Board & Train Program receives a tailored training plan designed just for them in regard to your training goal(s)!
During your dog’s Board & Train Program we will keep you up to date on their training progress daily - weekly, including photos and videos. Each Board & Train dog will have their own private kennel during their stay in our small-scale boarding facility that has a live-in caretaker (Certified Positive Reinforcement Dog Trainer: Sara Lundgren). Each dog will receive plenty of time outside their kennel for training, enrichment, and exercise.

Once dogs have learned the basics it is important to generalize their obedience training to new environments with varying levels of distraction. With our Board & Train Programs we achieve this by training the dogs at both of our training facilities, in our outdoor training field, in our homes, and on field trips to various locations (i.e. local parks & trails, downtown Bozeman, dog-friendly stores). Our Board & Train Programs are also designed to have your dog learn from all our trainers. Our goal is to develop a dog that will listen confidently in a wide-array of situations regardless of who is handling them.
In our Board & Train Programs while we do the majority of the training, it is vital to understand that to achieve the best results, you must continue the training at home. This is why every Board & Train Program includes Private Coaching Lesson(s) aimed at providing you with the proper tools and knowledge to set your dog up for continued success. Please note that we do not guarantee to “fix” major behavioral issues (i.e. reactivity or aggression) within a Board & Train Program. Major behavioral issues require significant amounts of time to work through and some behavioral concerns may be best addressed outside of a Board & Train Program.
PUPPY SOCIALIZATION BOARD & TRAIN PROGRAM
RECOMMENDED AGE: 8 weeks - 16 weeks
VACCINE REQUIREMENTS: Puppy must have received at minimum their first Distemper vaccination and a Bordetella vaccination 7 days prior to the Board & Train Program and a first deworming. Proof of vaccinations are required.

Our 2 week Puppy Socialization Board & Train Program is a great option for new puppy parents. A new puppy can be a lot of work! Let us help make the transition easier by getting your puppy off to a great start with socialization. This program also includes a jump start on your typical puppy struggles (i.e. potty training, crate training, nipping & chewing, jumping, etc.), as well as, building positive associations with body handling, grooming, and equipment.
Included in our Puppy Socialization Board & Train Program:

Puppy FoundationS BOARD & TRAIN PROGRAM
RECOMMENDED AGE: 8 weeks - 6 months
VACCINE REQUIREMENTS: Puppy must have received at minimum their first Distemper vaccination and a Bordetella vaccination 7 days prior to the Board & Train Program and a first deworming. Proof of vaccinations are required. (Puppies that are 16 weeks or older should have Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella vaccinations.)

Our 3 week Puppy Foundations Board & Train Program is a great choice for overwhelmed puppy owners. Having a new puppy can be a huge struggle! Let us help by getting your puppy off to a great start behaviorally, as well as, start to build a proper foundation in obedience training.

We teach all the practical obedience skills that your dog could ever need and they will be able to perform them in a variety of environments with duration, distance, and distraction.
